Preparing for the race

Frequently Asked Questions

I’d like to start together with someone else, is that possible?
Let us know about your preference in advance at  deelnemer@triathlonholten.nl . Please state clearly who the other person is. We will try to take your request into account when composing our starting lists. But we can’t guarantee that we will succeed.

Will there be another triathlon training?
If so, these courses will be provided by local sports clubs.

How do I get participant information about the race?
Our website contains information about registration and starting times for all the categories. About a week prior to the event, we will email all participants a booklet with additional practical information (alternatively, download the booklet on our website).

What does the track look like?
Elite, Company and OD triathletes swim in sand mine De Domelaar, cycle via the approach track towards the lap in and around Holten. This lap is cycled several times, depending on the distance. This cycling lap includes the Holterberg. Next up, a number of laps through Holten on foot.

Recreational participants in the Eighth swim in swimming pool Twenhaarsveld, cycle via the approach track towards the lap in and around Holten. This cycling lap includes the Holterberg. Next up, a number of laps through Holten on foot.

All participants finish in the triathlon stadium at Kalfstermansweide in the centre of Holten.

When do I receive my starting ticket?
Starting tickets with information such as your starting number and time will be emailed to you not long before the race.

Time limits
You will find the time limits for the Olympic Distance on the website. Exceeding that limit may prompt the jury to end your race. The limit for swimming is 45 minutes, for cycling 120 minutes and for running 90 minutes. The limit for participants in the eighth distance only applies to swimming in the pool. This limit is set to 20 minutes.
See the participant booket for all the time limits.
